Every Decision Serves the Story.
The Soundtrack Production Philosophy is a holistic approach to filmmaking that treats every element in the soundtrack as one continuous creative process.
One Creative Vision.
Every decision begins with Creative Analysis—understanding the story, the filmmaker's vision, and how every sonic decision influences the story from pre-production through the final mix.
Creative Analysis is not a single meeting or isolated stage of production. It is the continuous critical-thinking process behind every creative decision. From capturing great performances on set, to creating the sonic world for each scene in post, every element should bring the creative vision into focus.
From Start To Finish.
Collaboration between departments is critical throughout the filmmaking process. During production, the sound department needs to understand the script, characters, direction, cinematography, wardrobe, makeup, locations, and post production workflow. During post, the sound department needs to understand the editorial vision in order to enhance the storytelling, cinematography, pacing, and story arc.
We are all working together as one team. Every decision serves the story.
From the first script read to the final mix.
Pre-Production
Creative preparation: script, character, environment, wardrobe, camera, movement, lenses, vocal dynamics, and production constraints.
Production
Capture the performance while anticipating the needs, possibilities, and limitations of post-production.
Post-Production
Use spotting sessions and Creative Analysis to define emotional objectives and coordinate dialogue, atmosphere, sound design, and music.
Final Mix
Bring every element together as one clear, intentional, emotionally complete audience experience.
